The Asia-Pacific (APAC) region has become a highly competitive market for cloud platform providers due to its significant contribution to the global GDP and increasing adoption of cloud-based services by businesses and consumers, at about 90% of businesses in ANZ, China and India having more than 40% of their applications in the public cloud. While migrating applications to the cloud is still aggressively underway, writing cloud native applications is now the new normal. APAC has the largest share of the world's cloud data centers (37%) with most global cloud providers having presence in the key markets of China, India, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Australia. Many are expanding their onshore capacity in emerging markets such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam to meet the growing demand for cloud services in the region. In addition to established providers from North America and Europe, cloud providers from China are also competing for market share in the region, leveraging their local expertise and knowledge of the Chinese market.
